This is a tutorial on how to do 2021 Kawasaki 900 service lamp reset with OBDSTAR MOTOMASTER by OBD.
Required Tools
Main Cable
M041(OBD-6)
M005(KAWASAKI-4+6)
- Locate the engine diagnostic socket on this vehicle.
The red connector is the engine diagnostic port, which uses the China IV dedicated cable (M041). The black connector is for the ABS system.
Kawasaki’s ABS systems have a separate six-pin diagnostic port, which requires dedicated diagnostic cable(M005) to access the ABS system.
To perform the service lamp reset function, we’ll use the China IV dedicated cable(M041) to access the engine system.
- Conenct the cable to the vehicle.
Procedure
MOTO Diag >> KAWASAKI >> Latest Version >> Diagnosis >> Auto Scan >> Scan ECU >> ENG >> ECU Information >> Vehicle ECU Data
Here we can verify the ECU details.
Tap "DTC".
There are no fault codes on MOTOMASTER for the vehicle.
Read Data Stream >> All information >> All >> OK
Go back back to select "METER" >> Special Function
Note:

Click "Agree".
Enter password: 123
- Set The Current Meter Time.
Clock setting >> OK >> Enter value >> OK
- Modify the time to the next service lamp reset time and update the odometer reading.
Maintenance indicator display setting — Change setting value >> Enter value >> OK
When exceeding the set value, the maintenance indicator will be displayed on the meter. Press Yes to continue.
- After completed, processed to step2, wihch is to turn off the service indicator light on the instrument panel.
Maintenance indicator display setting — indicator function >> OK >> OFF
Next, connect the diagnositc socket of the Kawasaki ABS system with M005.
After completing the connection, access "Auto Scan >> ABS".
If you encounter any issues accessing the ABS system, try checking other diagnostic entries to find the correct system access.
