KT200 software cannot be updated solution

 Here obdexpress.co.uk shares the solution to resolve KT200/KTM200/ECUTuner ECU programmer software update failure issue.

Problem:

When open KT200 software, there is an update prompt appears 'New version found, start updating', but there is no response and cannot update the new version automatically after clicking OK.

Solution:

Download and install KT200 V2022.10.01 software (new) to fix the problem soon.

Note: the software version is the same as before, but the factory has fixed the bug that software flash and not open problem.

Installation steps:

Step 1: DO NOT connect KT200 ECU programmer, go to run renew driver64.exe directly

Step 2: Connect KT200 and computer via USB cable, then run Updatefirmware.exe

DON'T DISCONNECT USB DURING THE PROCESS

Step 3: Install setup.exe, then run KT200.exe

Besides, you also can free download the latest KT200 patch and dfb2xx.ll to solve the problem.

Installation steps:

Unzip the files downloaded

Load and install the Patch SP20221024 (1)

Click install, then all select YES

Copy dfb2xx.dll to replace the specified folder file

Copy and paste dfb2xx.dll to C:/KT200-master/DFBTech_Driver/i386 folder

For the 32 bit system: copy and paste dfb2xx.dll to C:/Windows/System32 folder

For the 64 bit system: copy the dfb2xx.dll file to C:/Windows/SysWOW64 folder

After that, KT200 software can be updated successfully, just open the KT200 software to use normally.

Prepared Remote via Key Tool Max

Because VVDI Key Tool Max does not have Suzuki S Presso option, so I'll select S-Cross SX4 instead, which also has wireless function & ID47.

Having been prepared the remote, go ahead to next step.

Program Key via Autel IM508

Connect IM508 into OBD interface.

IMMO >> Accept >> Suzuki >> System selection >> IMMO status scan >> BCM(8-digit) >> Add key

Please switch Hazard ON.

Please switch ignition ON (when doing all keys lost, if cannot switch ignition ON, you can try the immobilizer box wire short-circuit).

OK >> Start

After the function is carried out, all keys will be cleared. These keys cannot be used unless they are learned again. If this function is required, please get all keys ready.

Select "Yes" to get the 8-digit PIN code.

Follow the guidance step according to key type, press "OK":

Mechanical key: switch on ignition with keys that need to match.

Smart key: place the smart key which need to match on the push start button(key logo facing push start button).

Follow the prompts to put PH0440B PCB in K518 card slot.

The frequency should be 314.35/312.09MHz because of Ghana version.

Take all working keys outside vehicle.

Touch Start button with the PH0440B PCB, wait for about 10s until the key's light flashes.

If the light doesn't flash, please press Start button once again.

Put PH0440B PCB back to K518 card slot to start key generation.

Do you have working key? Yes

Count of working keys: 1

Take the working key back and put it into Lonsdor K518 card slot.

Put PH0440B PCB back to K518 card slot.

Generated successfully.

Test Key

Close driver door to test remote functions. Check if its RKE function works properly.

Press Lock&Unlock buttons, it works!

Take the working key out of the car, the PH0440B smart key can start car.

Select "Button 3 Electric rear window" option, open the trunk with the key, it works well!

Test keyless entry function, close all windows, take the new far away from the car. The door opens automatically.

How to Solve KT200 Write AUDI A4 8D EDC15P Error?

 One customer gave feedback that he used KT200 to test his Audi A4 1.9 TDI EDC15P which he drove several times, KT200 read it but failed to write, there was an error prompt appearing 'ERROR!!! Send Log File to support@ dfbtechnology.com'. He asked for help to solve this problem.

Users' suggestions:

1. Always do id before reading or writing operations… if no id, do not try to read or write …edc15p works fine with original dfox or fgtech.

2.Mpps, kess v2, abritius, vcp, galetto can over obd2 no Problem

Have all those Tools tested and work fine not brick one of them. With clone and Orig, some only have to take out the dash fuse.

Done about 300 of them in the last 5 years.

Mpps is if you have a bricked one, one of the only to get them back to Life over obd2

This is a very old ECU with many problems, try on the bench, not in the car, must physically check to see if EDC15P or EDC15P + as msa15 not going to read it over obd. You have to desolder EEPROM before can use obd read/write.

Even galletto has a problem with this ECU, one trick we learn was You must click read at write time…turn off the dashboard, turn it on, and after a second or second and a half click Write… Sometimes i tried 6 times before starting writing, back in the day even MPPS bricked this ECU too.

No dash fuse if doing on bench, also Fuse 40 if irc was for golf, he has old Audi 80, again, this ECU cause many problems over years.

Just a note too unless you physically have checked ECU then do not make an assumption of which it is. Old EDC15P (without +) cannot be done via OBD or boot mode. You need to solder.

To identify these EDC15 ECU has 6 screws, and EDC15P+ only has 4 screws, If your ECU has a 018 part number, then desolder only is an option.
