Launch X431 PAD7 Fixed BMW E90 578E EGS Gearbox Oil Wear DTC

 The BMW E90 has a 578E EGS Gearbox Oil Wear DTC after transmission oil replacement. This is a tutorial on how to use Launch X431 PAD VII to fix the problem. The same procedure applies to X431 PAD V as well.

Operation Procedure

Connect X431 PAD 7 to car OBD,

Intelligent Diagnose >> BMW >> OK >> Automatically Search >> Next

To ensure the accuracy of the test results, do the following:

  • Turn off the ignition switch
  • Wait 10s
  • Turn on the ignition switch
    1. There's a DTC in TCM(Transmission Control Module — EGS/DKG/SMG)

      578E EGS: Gearbox Oil: Wear

      Enter into the trouble code >> Continue >> Actuation Test >> General >> Reset Service Life, Gear Box Oil >> Active

      Service life of transmission oil has been set to 100%.

      Go back to clear fault code, then read fault code again.

      As we can see, there's no DTC now.

      The DTC has gone, problem was solved!
