How to Download, Install, Update and Activate Launch X431 ECU & TCU Programmer?

 Launch X-431 ECU & TCU Programmer is able to read the chip ID, back up the EEPROM & FLASH data and restore EEPROM/FLASH data, also supports data processing, anti-theft shutdown and file verification. For the first time using, you should download, install, update, and activate the device. Follow the step-by-step guide to operate.

1.Download and install X431 ECU & TCU Programmer PC software and driver

Visit www.x431.com

Select Service & Support>> Download

Download X-431 ECU& TCU Programmer PC Tools (98770)

Note: If for X-prog3 PC Adapter, select X-PROG3 PC Adaptor PC Tools (98804) to download. The function and operation guide is the same.

Click "Download" and select the language file you desire to download

After downloading, extract the folder, and open "ECUCLONE_PC_EN_setup.exe" to install

After completing the X-431 ECU& TCU Programmer setup, click "Install" to install driver when it pops up the window automatically.

2.Update X431 ECU Programmer Firmware

Supply power to X431 ECU programmer, and connect to PC via a USB cable

Check if the PC box is connected and confirm

Confirm to update firmware

3.Activate X431 ECU Programmer

When used for the first time, it will enter the activation interface.

After connecting the ECU&TCU programmer, the system will automatically recognize the Serial Number. Take out the password envelope and scrape the coating area to obtain the activation code.

Enter the activation code manually and click "Activate"

4.Main function display

• Platform:

Check the serial number, software and firmware version

• Data processing:

Perform Immobilizer shutoff and file checkout or Data cloning

• Firmware upgrade: update firmware to the newest version

• Check for updates: check if there is available version to update
• Log feedback

5.Get related ECU Information

Click Brand->Model->Engine->ECU to select the corresponding ECU type.

You can also enter relevant information (Brand, Bosch ID or ECU) in the search box to inquire.
