Today we’re gonna use the Lonsdor K518 Pro Key Programmer to program 2014 BMW 5 series smart key by OBD. Following is the operation tutorial step-by-step.
What Should Prepare?
OBD Communication Cable
An Original Car Key
A New Smart Key
Plug in the OBD communication cable.
Procedure
Step1. Read Key Data
Immo & Remote >> BMW >> Select from type >> CAS4/CAS4+ >> Method 2(OBD) >> Read key data
This function can read CAS and key data, and check if the current vehicle needs to do pre-processing. Click OK to continue.
Turn ignition ON.
Click OK.
It says: Need to preprocess the current vehicle!
Step2. Pre-process CAS4
Pre-process CAS4 >> OK
Follow the prompts to click OK.
Turn ignition ON.
Preprocessing… do not touch any button of the vehicle.
CAS4/CAS4+ proprecess completed, you can generate dealer key or reset mileage via OBD.
Let’s read key information again.
It now says: No need to preprocess current vehicle!
Step3. Make Dealer Key
Click "Making dealer key".
This function can turn new key to dealer key, which can be used to do "program key" operation, click OK to continue.
Please turn ignition on and Hazard warning lights.
Select blank key: Key3 >> Key slot generation >> Have original key
Please put a working key close to the induction coil.
Click OK.
Put the key to be generated in the K518 device’s cards slot.
Generate and lock ignition key success.
Please do follow:
- Except newly generated key, take all the other keys out of car.
- Close newly generated key to car induction coil.
- Click start button and wait for 15s(wait 15s to move key even when dashboard is lit up).
- Check if all functions of new key are normal.
Generate successfully.
After proprecess or adding key is complete, please try to start car first.
Now let’s try it.
Both the new key and original key can start the car successfully.
Remote control is normal, too.
